Since there are absolutely no preservatives added to any of the pet treats, remember to refrigerate
your bones. Unlike store bought treats, these can spoil over time.

HAM AND CHEESE DOG BONES, HAM AND CHEESE DOG TREATS

HAM AND CHEESE DOG BONES

These healthy dog bones were created by someone who loves big furry dogs that take up the whole bed!!!!!!!!!!

HAM AND CHEESE DOG BONES.

SO, AS USUAL, LET'S START WITH THE INGREDIENTS.  FOR THE HAM AND CHEESE DOG BONES, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING: (EGGS, APPLE SAUCE, BACON, CHEERIOS, HAM, CHEESE, ORGANIC PUMPKIN, BLUEBERRIES, FLOUR AND SOME WATER.)

START WITH ONE POUND OF BACON.

PLACE THE BACON ON SOME PAPER TOWELS AND PLACE UPON A MICROWAVABLE PLATE.  YOU CAN ALWAYS JUST BAKE THE BACON IN THE OVEN OR FRY THE BACON UP ON YOUR STOVE.

HERE IS A DIFFERENT VIEW OF THE BACON.  DON'T BOTHER SPLITTING UP THE BACON INTO STRIPS.  JUST DUMP THE WHOLE PACKAGE ON THE PLATE.  LET YOUR MICROWAVE WORK FOR YOU!!!

MICROWAVE THE BACON FOR 6 MINUTES AND STOP.  OPEN THE DOOR AND CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS CRISP.  PROBABLY NOT!!! CLOSE THE DOOR AND HEAT FOR ANOTHER 6 MINUTES UNTIL FULLY COOKED.

TIME TO ADD SOME HAM.  I USED AT LEAST 1 - 2 POUNDS OF FULLY COOKED HAM.

FOUND THIS DOG ON THE INTERNET.  THINK HE MAY BE HUNGRY?

via GIPHY

TIME TO CUT UP THE HAM INTO TINY CUBES AND TIME TO BRING OUT THE BLENDER.

CHOP UP THE HAM AND TOSS IT INTO YOUR BLENDER.  ADD ABOUT 1/3 CUP OF APPLE SAUCE AND 1/3 CUP OF WATER INTO THE BLENDER.  NOW, IF YOU ALL HAVE A BIG BLENDER, YOU WON'T HAVE TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS 4 TIMES (LIKE I HAD TO)  I KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS 2018...A NEW BIG BOY BLENDER!!

KEEP BLENDING UNTIL YOU HAVE USED UP ALL THE HAM.  REMEMBER TO ADD 1/3 CUP OF APPLE SAUCE TO EACH BLENDER LOAD..

TIME TO ADD SOME FRUIT INTO THE MIXTURE.  GRAB 1 CUP OF FRESH BLUEBERRIES AND TWO EGGS.

CRACK THE EGGS AND TOSS THEM INTO THE BLENDER WITH THE FRESH BLUEBERRIES.

LOOK GOOD SO FAR.  NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE EGGS AND BLUEBERRIES IN THE FOOD BLENDER; START YOUR ENGINES!!

WOW, NOT THAT LOOKS DELICIOUS.  SORT OF LOOKS LIKE A RASPBERRY SMOOTHIE.. (PROBABLY TASTES LIKE CRAP WITH THOSE EGGS!!!)

TAKE ONE CUP OF CHEERIOS.
THROW IT INTO THE MIXING BOWL.  ADD 2 CUPS OF SHREEDED CHEESE AND TOSS IT INTO THE BOWL..

REMEMBER THAT BACON IN THE MICROWAVE.  WELL, IT'S TIME TO CUT IT UP AND THROW IT INTO THE BLENDER.

YOU WILL NEED TO ADD ABOUT 1/2 CUP OF WATER TO THE BLENDER MIXED WITH THE COOKED BACON.

BLEND AWAY, BABY.....

NOW, FOR ALL THOSE FAITHFULL BLOGGER FOLLOWERS THAT HAVE BEEN TENTATIVELY AND ANXIOUSLY AWAITING MY NEWEST AND GREATEST DOG BONE RECIPES......................WELL, IT'S TIME TO ADD THE FLOUR!!!

GO AHEAD.  ADD 9 CUPS OF FLOUR!!!!

STIR..POUND..BEAT..KICK..PUNCH..PINCH...TICKLE...SLAM.....THAT DOUGH UNTIL IT FEELS RIGHT.  YOU DON'T WANT IT TOO STICKY SO YOU MAY NEED TO ADD A SPRINKLE, OR A DASH, OR PERHAPS A FISTFUL OF FLOUR TO THE MIXTURE.

TAKE THE DOUGH AND ROLL IT OUT.  CUT INTO SHAPES AND TOSS INTO THE OVEN FOR 1 HOUR AT 350 DEGREES.

HERE IS THE END RESULT.  AWESOME TASTING HAM AND CHEESE DOG BONES.  I PERSONALLY ATE TWO OF THESE BONES, MYSELF.  THEY REALLY ARE (NOT TO BAD).....

APPLESAUCE DOG TREATS

HEALTHY HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE PET TREATS

This batch of homemade dog treats (30 large dog biscuits) cost roughly $3.20

The essential ingredients: applesauce; one can of peas, eggs, cinnamon; coconut oil; whole wheat flour; honey; organic chicken broth.

Ok, lets start with 5 cups of flour.  I know, it only shows 4 cups in the glass, but you will definitely need to add more flour.

Go ahead...Pour it into the bowl.

Take those two eggs; beat them with either a fork or a spoon:

Add 1/4 cup of Coconut oil

Throw it into the microwave.  Remember to remove the glass jar!!!!!!

Now, open up a can of peas.

Drain the can into your sink.

Add 1/2 TBS of salt

Add all the ingredients together in the bowl.

Add 1/4 cup of cinnamon and pour into the bowl.

Yep, definitely add the cinnamon to the mixture.  Dogs love it.

Now, Add 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce.

Pour it into the bowl..

Can't make the Applesauce dog biscuits without the honey!
1/4 cup should do the trick.

Pour the honey into the bowl.

Chicken broth.  You can substitute beef broth if you like.
1 and a half cups of chicken broth..

Heat the broth in a sauce pan until warm.

Pour the warm chicken broth into the bowl..

Now...Start mixing.  Just an FYI..Wash your hands before you thrust them into the bowl.

Well, remember what I said earlier about needing more flour.  Yep, the mixture was far too sticky so I had to add yet another 2 cups of Whole Wheat Flour.

Yep, that looks better..

Cut out some parchment paper and line your cookie tins.

Time to start rolling out the dough.  You may want to throw some extra flour onto the parchment paper to make it easier to roll.

Roll flat.  About 1/2 inch thick.

Time to cut into pieces.  I used a pizza cutter. Spray the pizza cutter with some Pam to prevent sticking.

The Bourban is for the cook.....It was definitely 5:00 somewhere!!!

Top off the dog treats with some honey.
1/4 cup did the trick.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place the trays into your oven.

Cook for roughly 45 minutes or until brown and hardened.

Let them cool for 10 minutes and place them onto a plate.

Not only are these treats delicious and healthy for your pets, but they cost a lot less than the average $10.00 bag of store bought treats.  I recently visited a pet store the other bag and took a gander at the so-called pet treats.  You may be surprised to learn what they fill them with...For Example:

  • ground wheat
  • corn gluten
  • soybean meal
  • (preserved with BHA?? )  What is BHA?
  • phosphoric acid
  • sorbic acid
  • calcium propionate
  • corn gluten meal

And the lists goes on and on with chemicals and fillers.
