BACON AND RICE DOG BONE RECIPES
HERE ARE THE INGREDIENTS USED IN THIS RECIPE. IT COST AROUND $7.00 DOLLARS TO MAKE AND MADE AROUND 30+ LARGE DOG BONES. (WATER; AGAVE NECTAR; BACON; FLOUR; RICE; CHEESE; CINNAMON; APPLE SAUCE AND TWO EGGS)
I USED A STEAM COOKER TO MAKE THESE BONES, BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A RICE STEAMER YOU CAN DO IT THE OLD FASHIONED WAY IN A SAUCE PAN WITH RICE AND WATER. I USED AROUND 1 CUP OF RICE AND TOSSED IT INTO THE STEAMER WITH 4 CUPS OF WATER. THE STEAMER DID ALL THE WORK..THE DOG AND I JUST WATCHED IT COOK.
YEP, THIS IS HOW I PASSED THE TIME...WAITING FOR THAT DAMN RICE TO COOK...
SO, THE RICE IS DONE!!
TAKE 6 STRIPS OF BACON AND PLACE THEM ONTO SOME PAPER TOWELS.
TOSS IT INTO THE MICROWAVE FOR 6 MINUTES OR UNTIL DONE. THE CRISPIER, THE BETTER.
TAKE 6.5 CUPS OF FLOUR
ADD 1 CUP OF APPLE SAUCE
ADD 1 CUP OF THE STEAMED RICE
ADD 1/8 CUP OF CINNAMON
ADD 1/3 CUP OF AGAVE NECTAR
NOW, TAKE THE 1 CUP OF WATER; CRUNCH UP THE BACON; TAKE THE TWO EGGS AND THROW IT INTO YOUR BLENDER.
LOOKS GREAT, DOESN'T IT?
BLEND AWAY, BABY....
ADD 1 CUP OF SHREDDED CHEESE
NOW, MIX IT ALL TOGETHER.
TIME TO ROLL OUT THE DOUGH
I USED A PIZZA CUTTER TO MAKE IT EASIER AND FASTER ON ME AND THE DOG.
CUT INTO PIECES AND PLACE ON A TRAY.
PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 350 DEGREES AND BAKE FOR 45 MINUTES - 50 MINUTES DEPENDING ON YOUR OVEN TEMPERATURE.
I THINK THEY ARE DONE..
LET COOL FOR 15 MINUTES AND TAKE A BITE. YOU KNOW, I HAVE TRIED EVERY DOG BONE RECIPE AND I MUST SAY, THEY ARE EXTREMELY TASTY. IF I HAD A FAVORITE MOTHER-IN-LAW, I MIGHT CONSIDER FEEDING THESE TO HER ON A REGULAR BASIS. SHE WOULD LOOSE SOME WEIGHT, GET RID OF HER BAD BREATH AND PROBABLY CURE HER FLEA INFESTATION PROBLEM..
