Since there are absolutely no preservatives added to any of the pet treats, remember to refrigerate
your bones. Unlike store bought treats, these can spoil over time.

APPLE AND LAMB DOG RECIPES

HOMEMADE ORGANIC LAMB TREATS FOR YOUR FURRY FRIENDS

THIS RECIPE COST ME AROUND $11.00 DOLLARS TO MAKE AND PRODUCED 30 LARGE DOG BISCUITS.

LET'S START WITH THE MOST EXPENSIVE INGREDIENT....ORGANIC LAMB.

THESE ARE THE INGREDIENTS TO MAKE YOUR APPLE AND LAMB DOG TREATS.

SO, LET'S START WITH 4.5 CUPS OF FLOUR.

YOU WILL NEED ABOUT 1 AND A FOURTH CUP OF UNSWEETENED APPLE SAUCE.   YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT EXTRA SUGAR INTO YOUR PETS DIET..HE WON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

SPRAY YOUR PAN WITH PAM.  IF YOUR SPOUSE IS NAMED PAM, THEN YOU CAN HAVE PAM SPAY PAM INTO THE PAN...... (ok, so we are not so good with the jokes)

ADD ABOUT 1/2 CUP OF COCONUT OIL TO THE SAUCE PAN

THROW IN THE MAIN INGREDIENT...LAMB

YEP, DRACULA CAN SMELL IT COOKING..HE KNOWS THAT HIS DEAR OLD DAD IS MAKING HIM SOME NEW TREATS.

MAKE SURE TO FULLY COOK THE LAMB...

OK, SO LET'S START MIXING ALL THE INGREDIENTS TOGETHER.  TOSS THEM INTO THE MIXING BOWL.

ADD THE APPLE SAUCE WITH THE FLOUR

BEAT THE TWO EGGS AND THROW THEM INTO THE BOWL.

ADD 1/4 CUP OF CINNAMON TO THE MIXTURE.

NOW THE FUN PART.  REMEMBER TO ADD THE COOKED LAMB TO THE MIXTURE.  YOU DON'T NEED TO DRAIN... JUST POUR EVERYTHING INTO THE BOWL..

STIR IN AROUND 1/2 CUP OF CHICKEN BROTH.

THE NEXT PART IS OPTIONAL.  ADD SOME DRIED APPLES INTO YOUR BOWL.  REMEMBER TO CRUSH THEM INTO TINY PIECES BEFORE TOSSING THEM INTO THE MIXTURE.

TIME FOR THE DOUGH.  TOSS SOME FLOUR ONTO THE PARCHMENT PAPER.

HOPEFULLY, YOUR MIXTURE WILL LOOK SOMETHING LIKE THIS. YEAH, I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING WHEN YOU SEE THESE PICTURES!!!!

I USED MY PIZZA CUTTER ONCE AGAIN TO CUT THE DOG TREATS INTO EVEN SQUARES.  AT LEAST, I TRIED TO CUT THEM INTO EVEN SQUARES.........

HEAT THE OVEN TO 350 DEGREES AND PLACE BAKE FOR 45 MINUTES.

THEY ARE DONE!!!!

LET THEM COOL FOR 10 - 20 MINUTES.

I GAVE ONE TO DRACULA...HE TOOK IT AND RAN AWAY.  HE KNOWS WHEN I PULL OUT THE CAMERA.  EVIDENTALLY HE FEELS THAT I SHOULD ASK FOR HIS PERMISSION BEFORE PHOTOGRAPHING HIM.

YEP, HE LOVES THE APPLEA ND LAMB DOG TREATS.

HELLO DRACULA....

SO, I DECIDED TO TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE CHEMICALS AND INGREDIENTS THAT ARE IN SOME OF THE MOST FAMOUS ICONIC PET TREATS ON THE MARKET TODAY.  I MEAN WHAT IS BONE PHOSPHATE OR TITANIUM DIOXIDE?  AND, HOW DO YOU MODIFY FOOD STARCH?  DO YOU TAKE A POTATO AND GENETICALLY INFUSE IT WITH A CAN OF LARD?  AND OH YEAH, I LOVE READING THE 3RD INGREDIENT IN THIS...CELLULOSE?  ISN'T THAT WHAT THE DOCTOR SUCKS OUT OF YOU DURING LIPOSUCTION??????? HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY EATTEN A CAN OF CELLULOSE?  WHAT DOES IT LOOK AND TASTE LIKE???

HEALTHY PET TREAT RECIPES

PEANUT BUTTER FRUIT TREATS

AVERAGE COST FOR 30 BONES: $2.75

This recipe is very simply do and will only take roughly an hour from start to finish.  The main ingredients are: Whole wheat flour, eggs, bananas and peaches, salt, peanut butter, coconut oil, chicken broth, shredded cheese, cinnamon and one bag of bacon bits.

Let's start from the beginning:

Add one banana and three or four slices of frozen peach slices into a cup.  (you can, of course substitute apples, or carrots, etc.)

Add two large tablespoons of coconut oil together with the fruit.

Add 1/4 cup of chicken broth (or beef broth)

Mix everything together with a blender or a juicer

blend until smooth

Now comes the difficult part of making these healthy dog treats; keeping your countertops and floors clean, especially if your spouse is a pig in the kitchen!

put 3-4- cups of whole wheat flour into a mixing bowl.

I started with just 3 cups but, by the end,  after I had added all the materials together, I probably ended up adding closer to 5 cups of flour.

had to add just a bit more:

Add one teaspoon of salt

two eggs.

Add 1 cup of shredded cheese (I chose Colby Jack, but its really up to you and whatever cheese that you may find in your fridge)  I don't suggest using Blue Cheese or any other smelly cheese to this recipe.

in case you need visual directions...crack the eggs; beat them; add the cheese and Voila!!!

add two tablespoons of cinnamon.

add one bag of bacon bits to the recipe:  Hey, who doesn't love bacon!!!

Now we get messy:  I probably used 5, maybe 6 or was it 8 tablespoons of Peanut Butter.

gently place the peanut butter into your microwave.  Please Don't leave the jar of peanut butter in the microwave.  It is for visual purposes only..    microwave on high for about 30 seconds or until soft.

ok, we're almost finished.  Grab some chicken or beef broth.  I used around 1 cup of chicken broth.

place the broth in a sauce pan and heat for about 2 -4 minutes.

Now add the melted peanut butter along with the luke warm broth into the mixing bowl and stir.  I know it shows that I used a wooden spoon, but to be honest, I used my grubby paws to mix everything together.

You may need to add a few tablespoons of flour to the mixture depending on its consistency.  This is now dough and dough needs to be rolled flat.  I found out that my wife had given away our rolling pin so I improvised with a wine bottle.

Place the dough onto some parchment paper and roll it until 1/2 inch thick.  Once again, it really depends on how thick you want to make the bones.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Cut out the bones; place them onto baking pans and throw them into the oven.

Bake for around 20-30 minutes (depending on your oven); or until brown and hardened.

Let cool and place pet treats onto a plate:

for visual effects only, I placed the entire batch onto the floor for my dog, Dracula to smell...

I started making these recipes to combat all the carcinogenic pet treats that proliferate the shelves inside your favorite pet store.  After reading all the ingredients and fillers that the so called healthy pet manufacturers put into your pet treats, I decided to create my own recipes and extend the life of my pet. I try to only use ORGANIC ingredients and very little sugar. I personally sample every pet treat before feeding it to my beloved dog, Dracula.  Won't lie to you, although the pet treats are healthier and smell delicious; they taste like crap to the human palate.

All the puppies are sitting for a healthy homemade treat.

Elvis my dog.  He was 14 years old when he died (January 11, 2016)  He was a rescue dog (half lab, half Chow mix)  He loved eating bacon.  If I knew then what I know now, I would NEVER have fed him that fake red bacon treats that they sell in pet stores across the country.

Baby Dracula with Zoe.  He just turned 1 year old April 14, 2017.  I bought him from a breeder 20 minutes South of Dallas, Texas ($650 dollars). WWW.CRYSTALLIVESTOCK.COM  .  Great Pyrenees dog.  972-740-4366
